​​The Healing Path

I took a walk down the healing path today,  I glanced to my right and saw the horses at play.  Looking to the west the sun shone bright,  

But the thoughts in my head were held so tight.  A few more steps more into the trees,  

I couldn’t even feel a slight breeze.  

Staring at the top of each tree out there,  

It felt like they wanted to share.  

The quiet was tearing at my head,  

The weather was saying I had nothing to dread.  I moved along the path some more, all alone,  I was sure that nothing moved not even a stone.  But then a beam of sunlight hit my ear,  

And a voice told me I had nothing to fear.  

For God’s holy spirit was sending me peace,  I looked behind me and saw an angel near my reach.  A beautiful angel by the name of Heather,  Stood there smiling and enjoying the weather.  The angel said, “I’m here to ease your heart,  Let us move to a bench and relax for a start.  Tell me your thoughts as you stare into the quiet,  I’m sure I have words that will calm your spirit.”  I didn’t know what to say and my first thought was pray,  I lowered my head. but the angel did say.  

“Father, please help this man in distain,  

He needs your touch to take away the pain.”  In that moment a tear dropped down my cheek,  My body felt so relieved, but also weak.  

The angel touched my shoulder, then she was gone.  But now my whole body felt relieved and strong.  Oh, thank you for making this path,  

I no longer feel the hatred and wrath.
